Numbers in Different Languages
Introduction
This document contains numbers in several different languages. It is meant to be used for testing how JAWS reads numbers in different languages.
Most sections in this document have the following two subsections, Well-Formed Numbers and Malformed Numbers.
The Well-Formed Numbers section contains numbers that use the correct symbols for Decimal Separators and Thousands Separators.
The Malformed Numbers section contains numbers that are not correctly formed for the language. These numbers illustrate four common errors.
- The number does not conform to the LOCALE_SGROUPING expectations.
- The Decimal Separator character is used where the Thousands Separator character should be used.
- The Thousands Separator character is used where the Decimal Separator character should be used.
- There is more than one Decimal Separator in the number.
Some sections of this document also have an Example Sentences section.

Note: JAWS will consider any whitespace character in the middle of a number to be a potential Thousands Separator. In addition, JAWS will also parse the number correctly if a period is used as the Thousands Separator instead.
